Freddie & Janet Giles
I had saved some of these pictures many years ago, and just recently stumbled upon them and decided to do a bit more research about the "Around The World In 80 Days", which was held back in 2000. It's hard to believe, when you actually look at the variety of competition in this rally, that in the "Classic & Historic" category the Hillman Hunter #89 of Freddie & Janet Giles finished 1st overall in its class! This must have been one heck of a drive! I am a bit jealous, it just seems like organizing events like these keeps getting harder and harder these days.
...and finally this is yet another "Kick In The Teeth" to those people out (you know who you are!) who are persistent in their views that Hillman Hunter was a feeble car! ;@ How many EPIC rally wins does it take to convince you? Ha?! How many?!... ;)
Fun Fact: I believe pictures 3 thru 8 from the top were taken at Up-North Michigan!
Pictures and the information were gathered from these sources: Chicago MG Club, fachmaart.lu & Team-Busch
