Very clean P reg. (1 August 1975 – 31 July 1976) Humber Sceptre MKIII. The folding sunroof was not original equipment.

Update: Anonymous made a comment: "Probably a re-build, since the chrome arches and sill finisher strip are missing (and the holes appear to have been filled in and painted)". I agree also, Thanks!

Palmerston North

Beautifully Shot! 1968 Singer Vogue in Palmerston North, New Zealand 1968. Photos were shot by: KiwiGippy

I asked KiwiGippy to tell me more about the car and its owner:
"This car belonged to a very good friend of mine, (still good friends to this day), and he bought it new in Palmerston North. The car was assembled in New Zealand, and the hubcaps were the original ones fitted. They carry a Chrysler emblem, and were similar, if not identical, to hubcaps fitted to New Zealand built Chrysler Valiant VC - VE - VF models of the same period. I know that UK versions had a smooth hubcap with a small central indentation. Unfortunately, the car no longer exists in New Zealand car registration records, so it would be safe to assume that it has "disappeared."

Dolomite

This is a 1968 Hillman Minx that has gone through some transformation, notably the rear lights which are from not so popular Triumph Dolomite. The Dolomite unlike Hunter didn't carry any motorsport pedigree whatsoever! It was a dismal attempt by British Leyland who were trying to compete with the mighty Rootes' Arrow series!

"I ended up having a lengthy chat with the owner. The car carries a fantastic story. Long story short this owner bought it in '73. After driving it for a good time, it was then laid up due to starting to get a bit rusty. After some time he decided, once retired, to restore it. He has done little bits and pieces to make it more of his own. This car is a fantastic credit to him."

All the above info is true, except the bit about Triumph Dolomite! Happy April Fools' Day! ;)
