Fascinating photo for me because I know Scrabster very well as the ferry port for Orkney across the Pentland Firth. The boat is the second St Ola ferry, operated by the North of Scotland & Orkney & Shetland Steam Navigaton Company from 1951 to 1975, when replaced by the third St Ola ferry operated by P&O with roll-on/roll-off facilities replacing crane loading.
